Das Wattenmeer - 1 x 1 Meter (The Wadden sea 1 x 1 meter) Photography on canvas 100 x 100 cm 1 x 1 meter is the size of a frame which is used by scientists to explore and determine the number of creatures in the National Park Wattenmeer. The National Park Wattenmeer is an endangered natural environment with its exchange processes between natural and anthropological development as well as the resulting conflicts and overload phenomena (such as: industry, pollution, tourism, boat-traffic). Das Wattenmeer - 1 x 1 Meter reflects socioecological aspects and beyond this it illuminates the global problem between socioeconomic development and ecological balance.

The Gate - into a landscape

Photography of an installation

120 cm x 80 cm on Aludibond

The Gate installed in the National Park Wattenmeer is leading people to a specific environment and opens up- like a virtuelt gate- the mind for thinking about larger parts of yet endangered environments in the world. National Parks with gates and borders are created for protection. Is the climate change changing also the perspective of thinking about this globe as “one earth - one people - one park”?

„Landgewinnung“ (building land) is an installation of 9 pieces (size 1  x 1 m) of land (plots/property) with growing plants on soil. Fixed to the ground by long steel sticks they float up and down by the level of water (Tidenhub/ Tide).

„Landgewinnung“ gives an impuls for the scientists to explore where and how people can live in the future when the ocean level will rise. The new built properties (plots) will rise up and down with the water level. Important for peace is to develop solutions for the climate change and the connected water level problem and give answer to the question: Where can I set my feet without stepping on someone elses?

2002 Polarität III- Tschernobyl, Videoinstallation in the Pulverturm (Gunpowdertower), Oldenburg (E)

The Video projection on a white wall shows the explosion of the 4th block of the nuclear power station Tschernobyl. A projection of birch trees at the wall of the round tower “Pulverturm” overlaps with the sculptures of concrete, which symbolize milk cartons of the contaminated milk in Germany. Sound: Heartbeat and blackbird

2000 Polarität II- Tschernobyl, Installation with Sound, Leer (E), Germany
